Focus the racing mind. On what?

Philippians 4:8 says:
Furthermore, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 6

I remember in my struggles to keep my mind from racing and going off on tangents with my battle with anxiety disorder, I was blessed to have been shown exactly what St. Paul writes to the Philippians. The way we all need to battle off continual negative thoughts is to catch ourselves and choose to think of holy things.   It is a battle worthy to be fought. A determined effort is needed to set before your mind and eyes and ears all that is good. Eventually God will shed pure joy on your mind and soul. For he will see you struggling to seek goodness in all situations by choosing to keep your eyes on that which is good. Be at peace in this endeavor, however, every step is one forward.

One of the greatest pieces of advice, I may have mentioned before is to sit in the presence of God and choose to ponder his attributes. Think of Him! He is our most purest and most gifted of thoughts that responds to grace to allow clarity to enter our lives. Our God is so good. Think of Him and all that is holy. He will take care of the rest.

May God be with you and in you always !
